ACT - Automated Cargo Tracking Solution for Airline Cargo Operators:

ACT is a turnkey solution deployed by leading airline cargo operators. It provides a 7 stage tracking process that is driven by reusable passive RFID tags making it a more cost effective and efficient method of tracking compared to barcodes. Package routing information is verified using either handheld scanners or fixed readers installed at various points along the transportation route. Automated alerts are sent via email / SMS when a misroute situation is encountered. Item level tracking at each stage provides a complete trail of a package when it is transferred from one airport to another thus reducing package losses and customer claims. Real time reporting allows monitoring of package movement via a web based portal.

HARDWARE COMPONENTS:

AIM 3000 UHF RFID Mobile Handheld Computer

TM3000 RFID Fixed reader and antenna system

Metal UHF RFID Tag

SOFTWARE COMPONENTS:

Commissioning Module -

Allows unique identification of each package along with its destination, route and weight. All information is erased and tags are re-commissioned for a new item and route once packages reach their destination.

Warehouse Exit Module-

Automatically keeps track of package movement IN and OUT of the warehouse. It also serves as a electronic gate whereby only packages leaving via a particular route are allowed to exit the warehouse gate.

Aircraft Load Module –

A handheld scanner hung up on the conveyer belt used to load cargo proactively detects any misrouted cargo. An audible alert allows loaders to correct mistakes before being loaded on aircrafts. Any misrouted cargo movement is reported to supervisors via email for further actions.

Offload Module –

Allows an inventory of offloaded cargo that happens due to weight balancing restrictions on passenger aircrafts. Such information is passed to backend systems and aids in re-planning of routes for offloaded cargo.

Receiving Module –

Enables a receiving supervisor to quickly verify correct arrival of cargo. This module also allows for verification of receipt by agents using a digital signature.

With minor modifications ACT can be deployed for a variety of closed loop supply chains similar to Airline Cargo Operations.
